- Born on March 2, 1991, in the city of Lutsk, Volyn region. Graduated from secondary school No. 20 in Lutsk. Studied at Lutsk Pedagogical College. Was passionate about football, played for the football club "Magnit" (the village of Buyany, Lutsk district, Volyn region). From 2011 to 2012, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In the spring of 2014, he was mobilized by the Lutsk Combined City Military Commissariat into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 51st Separate Guards Perekop-Kharkiv Prague-Volyn Order of Lenin, twice Order of the Red Banner, Order of Suvorov and Kutuzov Mechanized Brigade of the 13th Army Corps of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A2331, the city of Volodymyr-Volynskyi, Volyn region). Since the spring of 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On May 22, 2014, around 6 a.m., between the urban-type settlements of Olhynka and Volodymyrivka in the Volnovakha district of Donetsk region, near the city of Volnovakha, a diversionary-terrorist group attacked a unit of Ukrainian soldiers. According to eyewitnesses, the militants arrived in two armored cash transport vehicles and two SUVs, opened heavy fire with grenade launchers and MANPADS, and machine guns. During the shelling, one of the shells hit a combat vehicle that was at the checkpoint, causing an explosion of the ammunition. As a result of the battle, 17 soldiers were killed and many were wounded. During this battle, soldier Prokopchuk received very serious injuries and died in the hospital.
