Anatolii A. Bashchuk (Shaitan)

Soldier Anatoliy Bashchuk (call sign Shaytan) was killed on January 1, 2024 in the battle for the city of Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. The defender's life was cut short by enemy mortar and artillery shelling. The warrior was 31 years old. Anatoliy was from the village of Velykyi Obzyr in the Volyn region. After finishing school, he obtained vocational education at the Kamin-Kashyrskyi Higher Vocational School. Later, he worked various jobs. He was interested in technology. During the full-scale war, the man fought for his country as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the Separate Presidential Brigade named after Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytskyi. He held the position of a grenadier. "My brother was very kind, he never refused anyone anything. He was ready to help everyone," said Kateryna Liushyk. Anatoliy was buried in his native village. His sisters were waiting for him at home.
