Anatolii A. Hros (Perevodchyk)

Senior sailor Anatolii Hros (call sign Translator) died on December 14, 2023 while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Krynky in the Kherson region. He sustained fatal injuries during enemy shelling. The defender was 23 years old. Anatolii was born in the village of Vesniane, Zaporizhia region. In childhood, he moved to the Chernihiv region, where he was raised in an orphanage. Later in life, a large family adopted the young man. He graduated from the Komarivka boarding school and studied at the Kyiv College of Construction, Architecture and Design. He lived in the capital. He actively participated in charitable projects. In civilian life, Anatolii worked as a senior steward and laborer at the NSC "Olimpiyskyi", and then was an employee of the Shakhtar football club. He participated in Shakhtar's project to support internally displaced persons at the Shelter Centre and worked at the Arena Lviv. He led an active, healthy lifestyle and traveled. He skated, played football, volleyball, tetherball, and table tennis. He was sociable and easily found common ground with different people. He had many friends. After the start of the full-scale invasion, he voluntarily defended Ukraine. He underwent training abroad and defended the country as part of the 38th Separate Marine Brigade in the eastern direction. He held the position of anti-aircraft gunner in the anti-aircraft missile platoon of the fire support company of the 2nd Marine Battalion. "Anatolii was very kind, sensitive, cheerful, brave, and always had a smile on his face, he always came to help everyone. He wanted to start a family and have children. He dreamed of returning to work at the football club after the victory, because he adored it," said the deceased's girlfriend Olena Kocherhina. Anatolii was buried in the cemetery in the village of Komarivka in the Chernihiv region. He is survived by his parents, girlfriend, and other relatives.
