Anatolii I. Papshoia

Senior soldier Anatoliy Papshoya died on October 10, 2023, while repelling an enemy assault in the area of the village of Pervomaiske, Donetsk region. The defender was 58 years old. Anatoliy was born in the village of Verbka, Vinnytsia region. He lived with his family in the village of Holubche. He had a secondary education. In civilian life, he worked as a driver. He skillfully repaired cars and loved fishing. During the full-scale war, the man fought for his Motherland in the ranks of the 59th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Yakiv Handziuk. He held the position of senior rifleman in the 11th separate battalion. He did not have a call sign, joking that he was too old to come up with something. "Anatoliy Papshoya is my stepfather, who became a father to me since I was 8 years old. No matter how difficult it was, he never complained. He always said: 'Better me than my children.' After a severe injury, he did not refuse the 'zero', because when the young go, he could not stay aside. He was considered missing in action. At home, Anatoliy was awaited by his wife, son, daughter, and grandchildren.
