- Anatoliy Mykolayovych Buhanets was born on December 4, 1987, in the village of Romankivtsi, Sokyryanskyi District, Chernivtsi Oblast. In 2005, he graduated from Chernivtsi Vocational Technical School No. 9. From April 2006 to April 2007, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On March 13, 2022, Anatoliy Buhanets was called up to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine for mobilization and was assigned to serve in the 7th Border Detachment. From June to October 2022, as part of the 2nd Border Guard Service (Type C) of the Rapid Response Border Command, he was dispatched to carry out combat missions in the area of the towns of Sloviansk and Bylbasivka in Donetsk Oblast. From October 2022 to April 2023, he repeatedly participated directly in repelling the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, guarding the state border with the Republic of Belarus. On April 17, 2023, as part of the 2nd Border Guard Service (Type C) of the Rapid Response Border Command, Anatoliy was once again dispatched to carry out combat missions in the area of direct fire engagement with the enemy near the towns of Serebryanka and Hryhorivka in Donetsk Oblast. The man courageously and steadfastly carried out the evacuation of wounded and fallen comrades. On July 15, 2023, during an enemy artillery shelling, while at a position in the area of the village of Serebryanka, Donetsk Oblast, Senior Sergeant Anatoliy Buhanets sustained multiple injuries. The serviceman was evacuated and taken to a hospital in Dnipro. Despite all efforts of the medics, on July 17, 2023, Anatoliy Buhanets died in the hospital from his injuries. For personal bravery and selfless actions demonstrated in defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and loyalty to the military oath, Senior Sergeant Buhanets Anatoliy Mykolayovych was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" of the III degree.Memory Book of the MIA System
