Anatolii M. Hodunko (Morhan)

Staff Sergeant Anatoliy Godunko (call sign Morgan) was killed on March 27, 2024 in battle with the occupiers near the village of Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. The defender was forever 33 years old. Anatoliy was born in the village of Polytsi, Rivne region. He graduated from the Chernihiv Law College, where he obtained a law degree. But he dedicated his entire conscious life to military service. He has been a military man since 2013. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Anatoliy served in the 6th Border Guard Unit of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. He held the position of a 2nd category border guard service inspector, the head of the anti-tank missile systems group of the border anti-tank platoon. "My son is brave, courageous, just, honest and purposeful," said Nina Godunko. The border guard was buried in his native village. Anatoliy is survived by his mother Nina Ivanivna, father Mykhailo Leontiyovych, brothers Mykhailo and Oleksandr, and sister Tetyana.
