Anatolii M. Kharabara (Kh.A.M.)

Senior soldier Anatoliy Kharabara (call sign X.A.M.) was killed on September 16, 2023, while performing a combat mission near the village of Robotyne, Zaporizhia region. The defender was 42 years old. Anatoliy was born in the village of Shebutyntsi, Chernivtsi region. He received secondary education at the local secondary school. He worked at the Chernivtsi bread factory, was an entrepreneur-driver and a builder. He was passionate about the automotive industry and agriculture. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, the man sought to defend his state from the occupiers. On April 20, 2022, he joined the ranks of the defenders of Ukraine. He served in the 65th separate mechanized brigade. Initially, he was a driver of a rocket artillery division. Later, he was transferred to the company of strike unmanned aerial systems of the reconnaissance platoon to the position of UACS operator. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he defended Ukraine in the Zaporizhia direction for 17 months. "My father was an incredibly good person and a brave warrior, bright and sincere, fair, always responsive to help, incredibly loved his family. He was an example of a true warrior, a true Ukrainian and a patriot of his country. And he proved it at the cost of his own life!" - said Ivanna Kharabara. The defender was buried in his native village. Anatoliy is survived by his mother, wife, two children, a loving family, friends and comrades-in-arms. Anatoliy Kharabara was posthumously awarded the Medal of the President of Ukraine "Defender of the Fatherland".
