- Soldier Anatoliy Yukhymenko (call sign Khoma) was killed in battle for Ukraine on September 15, 2022. Together with his comrades, he defended against the occupiers in the area of the village of Kurdyumivka in Donetsk Oblast and suffered a fatal explosive injury. The warrior was only 30 years old. Anatoliy was born and lived in the city of Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. He attended secondary school No. 9 and participated in the theater club "Debut." In 2011, he graduated from the Nikopol Vocational College of the Dnipropetrovsk State Agrarian University with a degree in "Mechanization of Agriculture." He loved life, animals, and birds. In 2014, he got a job at the company "Interpipe Niko Tube" as a rigger. Sometimes he replaced the foreman. In 2016, he was drafted for mandatory military service, and after demobilization, he returned to the enterprise and worked at the TPC-7 in the "Kri-Dan" section. Colleagues remember him as a caring and friendly guy, a responsible worker. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Anatoliy went to defend his homeland and joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Volodymyr Monomakh. He was a sniper. As part of his unit, he defended the eastern front. "He was very responsible at work. His colleagues still remember him as a polite person, as he never offended anyone. He found a way out of any situation. He worked in three shifts. On February 22, 2022, he had a milestone birthday—30 years old; he was still on vacation at that time, and on the morning of February 24, he received a summons. After his vacation, he was supposed to go for advanced training as a turner, but it never came to pass..." said the mother of the fallen warrior, Larysa Mykhailivna.
