Anatolii P. Burdeniuk (Petrovych)

47-year-old soldier Anatoliy Burdeniuk (call sign Petrovych) was killed on March 21, 2023 near the city of Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. During the performance of a combat mission, he received fatal injuries as a result of enemy mortar and artillery shelling. For more than 2 months, he was considered missing in action. Anatoliy was born in the village of Dakhtaliia, Vinnytsia region. He obtained the profession of an electric welder at the Horodkivskyi Vocational and Technical School. He was engaged in household activities. In his free time, he loved to solve crossword puzzles. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to protect his home and relatives from the occupiers. He served in the separate Presidential Brigade named after Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytskyi. He held the position of a service number. "The father never left anyone in trouble and on the battlefield, he shared crumbs of bread with his comrades-in-arms. From March 21, 2023 to May 30, 2023, he was considered missing in action. But when they found the body, the comrades-in-arms themselves brought him back to his homeland as a true Hero on a shield! We are proud of him. Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes! We will always remember!" - wrote Roman Burdeniuk. The defender was buried in his native village. Anatoliy is survived by his parents, wife and son.
