Anatolii P. Panasenko (Panas)

Soldier Anatoliy Panasenko (call sign Panas) was killed on February 27, 2022 in battle with the occupiers near Volnovakha in the Donetsk region. The defender's life was cut short by enemy shelling from Grad rocket launchers. The warrior was 43 years old. Anatoliy was born in the settlement of New York in the Donetsk region. He graduated from the Donbas State College of Technology and Management, obtaining the profession of mining mechanic. After conscript military service, he entered the police school in Mariupol. Until 2014, he worked in the police of the Yasynuvata district, and was also an escort on trains. In 2016, the man joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Vladimir Monomakh. He defended positions in almost all hotspots of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. A few months before the start of the full-scale invasion, his unit was transferred to the first line of defense, in the Volnovakha direction. There, Anatoliy, together with his comrades-in-arms, met the Great War. A few days before his death, he was concussed when he shielded a comrade, but refused hospitalization and continued to defend his native lands from the occupiers. However, he did not live to see the victory. "He became my guardian angel. I miss him very much. If he could return for a moment and find out how my life turned out..." - says the daughter of the deceased. Anatoliy left behind his mother Natalia and daughter Valeriya. Posthumously, soldier Anatoliy Panasenko was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
