- Sergeant Anatoly Pirich was killed on December 27, 2022, while defending against Russian occupiers in the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. The defender was 53 years old. Anatoly was born in the village of Mali Kalenichi, Khmilnytskyi region. He graduated from the Polonske Vocational School, where he obtained the profession of tractor driver. He worked in a collective farm and then in private farms. He was engaged in woodcarving and welding. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation. He lived with his family in the village of Soshky, Khmilnytskyi region. In 2021, the man returned to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought as part of the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Koshovyi Otaman Kost Hordiienko. He was a sniper. He carried out combat missions on the territory of the Joint Forces Operation. Anatoly met the full-scale invasion of the occupiers on the positions of the Luhansk region and continued to defend Ukraine until his last breath. "He was a true patriot of Ukraine. He met the invasion of the Russian Federation on the zero positions near the city of Shchastia in the Luhansk region. On May 8, he was wounded, but after numerous operations, he returned to the ranks. And now he is gone. It seems to me that I was killed with him. I will love and remember him forever," said the wife of the fallen Olga. "He was an incredible and wonderful father. A faithful husband and friend, whom you can rely on. A comrade-in-arms who saved lives. Sometimes stern, but kind, always ready to help. He was a great man who did truly important things. He had a compassionate golden heart. He was as strong as a rock. He could do what others couldn't. He never boasted of his achievements and turned a blind eye to the shortcomings of others. He never held a grudge and knew how to forgive. He didn't want to stay away from this war, starting from 2014. He said his place was there. In 2015, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was in the hot spots of the Donetsk region. The next year, he returned, had health problems, but wanted to go back to take revenge for his comrades-in-arms. In 2021, he returned to the Armed Forces. In May 2022, he was wounded. And after 17 operations, he rushed into battle again. They were making plans for the future with his mother, laughing, sometimes quarreling, but loving each other so much. At home, he was a true master, with golden hands, because everything he touched always worked out. He loved cars very much - both repairing and driving them. He carved wood, wove metal chains, made knives. He was the best, could give the last thing if asked. Villagers often turned to him for help, because he would not refuse and would do everything qualitatively. Everyone loved him, although sometimes he was harsh, but always direct and honest," added the warrior's daughter Oksana. Anatoly was buried in the village of Soshky in the Khmilnytskyi region. He left behind a wife and a daughter.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
