Anatolii V. Potereiko (AKB)

Senior Soldier Anatoliy Potereyko was killed in action on March 19, 2022, while performing a combat mission in Luhansk region. The defender did not live 5 days to his 43rd birthday. Anatoliy lived in the village of Kozirany, Chernivtsi region. He had been serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine under contract since 2018. He participated in the Joint Forces Operation, was a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war. In his free time, the man enjoyed fishing. He loved nature and animals. During the full-scale war, Anatoliy continued to defend Ukraine from enemies on the front. He held the position of senior rifleman in the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Daniel. "In the battle for our peaceful life, defending the native land from the Rashists invaders, for the peaceful sky over Ukraine, the resident of the village of Kozirany - Potereyko Anatoliy Vasylovych. The peace is achieved at a high price - the price of life of our good fathers, hardworking men, brave soldiers..." - noted the head of the Levynetska village community Andriy Herman. "I cannot convey my pain... My late uncle has a 19-year-old son and an 8-year-old daughter. He is our Hero! Heavenly kingdom! Russia, I hate you!" - said the soldier's niece Kseniya to journalists on the day of his death. The military serviceman was buried in the village of Kozirany, Chernivtsi region. Anatoliy was survived by his wife and two children. Posthumously, senior soldier Anatoliy Potereyko was awarded the Order of "Courage" III degree.
