Andrii A. Kachalka (Kai)

Soldier Andriy Kachalka (call sign Kai) died on July 15, 2023 in a gunfight with Russian occupiers near the village of Klishchiyivka in the Donetsk region. For 5 months, he was considered missing. The warrior remained forever 36 years old. Andriy was born in the village of Maidanchapelskyi in Vinnytsia region. He grew up in the village of Khyzhinsti. There he finished school. In 2020, he received vocational education at the Hnivan Vocational Lyceum named after R.Ya. Malynovskyi. He worked at a private enterprise. He was responsible in his duties, which earned him the respect of his colleagues and superiors. On January 19, 2023, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He underwent training abroad. He went to the front as part of the 22nd Separate Mechanized Brigade. He held the position of a grenade launcher. "My beloved husband Andryusha was given to me by fate. He always remained positive, in any situation. Andriy is a loving, dear husband, father, son-in-law, friend and godfather... He was a father with a capital letter and will always remain so for his children. He is the man who showed that there is a bright sun in the sky, that there is boundless strong love, that life is beautiful, despite everything. Andryusha is an example for his family, our pride, our always smiling optimist," said the wife of the fallen soldier. Andriy Kachalka was awarded the "Combat Cross" badge by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On December 19, 2023, the defender was buried in the village of Khyzhinsti in Vinnytsia region. At home, Andriy was awaited by his wife Olga, daughter Anna and son Dmytro.
