- 50-year-old Sergeant Andriy Kostyshyn was killed on August 13, 2023 near the city of Siversk in the Donetsk region. While performing his duties at a medical post, he sustained fatal injuries during hostile artillery shelling. Andriy was born in the village of Novosilci, Lviv region. He lived in the village of Stara Ropa. In 1992, he graduated from the Sambir Medical School, where he obtained the qualification of paramedic. For 16 years, he worked as a paramedic in the emergency medical team PS-5 in Lviv. In 2011, he left his job and changed his profession. He worked in Poland as a plasterer-facade worker, a locksmith at a factory, and an electronic equipment adjuster in production. He was a well-rounded person. He spent his whole life learning and mastering new professions, and always became one of the best and indispensable employees. He was interested in football and was an active supporter of the local team "Karpaty", in which his son played. He dedicated his free time to his family. Joint trips to historical sites and natural landmarks became a good family tradition. He was a skilled driver and enjoyed spending time behind the wheel. During the full-scale invasion, in May 2023, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of paramedic at the medical post of the 5th battalion of the 125th separate brigade of the territorial defense. He served in the city of Siversk. "Andriy was a beloved husband and the best father. He was everything to us. He was able to make our dreams come true. He was not just my other half, but my puzzle piece..." said his wife Lyubov. Andriy was buried in his native Lviv region. The hero left behind a wife, daughter, son, brother, sister, and nephews.
