- Soldier Andriy Liuts (call sign Shark) was killed on July 26, 2023 near the village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhia region. During the performance of the task, he received fatal injuries as a result of a hostile mine hitting the trench. He was 23 years old. Andriy was from the city of Ochakiv in the Mykolaiv region. He studied at the local school. During his school years, he was engaged in karate, participated in competitions at the city and regional levels, and had awards, cups, and medals for his victories. In 2019, he decided to connect his fate with military service. Andriy served in the 801st separate underwater anti-sabotage unit of the Ukrainian Navy. He was a driver-gunner. He was engaged in the life support of the military unit: he delivered personnel to the point of execution of the assigned tasks. During the full-scale invasion, the guy defended Ukraine in the ranks of the 78th separate air assault regiment "Hertz" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. There he held the position of senior rifleman and was the commander of the fire team. "He was active, cheerful, had an incredible thirst for life, loved life in all its manifestations," said the mother of the deceased Viktoria. "For us, you will always be our boy, our smiling sunshine... How much inhuman strength, courage and bravery you have. You left a void the size of an abyss. You went to protect us yourself, without asking anyone. I love you so much, I miss you so much... Forever 23... Remember his name - Andriy Liuts (Shark). Thanks to him, you are reading this now... Thank you, my dear!" wrote his sister Anastasia. The hero was buried in his hometown. The defender left behind a mother, sister, nephews, and other relatives. Andriy Liuts was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
