Andrii A. Poplavskyi

Soldier Andriy Poplavskyi (call sign Poplavok) died on May 7, 2024 in battle with the occupiers in the Pokrovsk direction. His life was cut short by enemy artillery fire. The warrior is now forever 42 years old. Andriy was from the city of Pervomaisk, Mykolaiv region. He graduated from the Kharkiv Mechanical Engineering College. In civilian life, he worked at the Cedar furniture factory. He was fond of fishing, loved to read and do woodworking. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, the man volunteered to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade "Magura". He held the position of a grenadier. "Andriy was a wonderful person. He was kind, hardworking, a good family man, sensitive, caring. He was a very good man, son, brother and friend. For me, he was a person with a capital letter," his beloved Alina Chystova said. The military was buried in the Alley of Glory of the cemetery in his hometown. He is survived by his parents, sister and girlfriend.
