Andrii A. Shurutin (Shurup)

Junior Sergeant Andriy Shurutin (call sign Shurup) was killed on December 16, 2022 near the settlement of Ozaryanivka in the Donetsk region. The defender's life was cut short by enemy artillery shelling. The warrior was 35 years old. Andriy was born in Kyiv. He studied at school No. 201 in the capital. He lived and worked in his native city. He was married and raised a son. He dreamed of a peaceful future for his family and country. He loved hiking. He dreamed of going on one of them with his son after the victory. During the full-scale Russian invasion, in July 2022, the man was voluntarily mobilized into the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 46th separate airmobile brigade. Initially, he was a shooter, took part in battles for the Kherson region, and received a wound. After rehabilitation, he returned to his comrades and took the position of a squad commander. "A heavy loss for us and our son, it is impossible to overcome this pain... For our son Timofiy, this is a terrible grief, because the father was always an example for him in everything... He will forever remain in our hearts and memory as a true Hero, and Heroes do not die..." - wrote the wife of the fallen. The paratrooper was buried on the Alley of Glory of the Forest Cemetery in his native Kyiv. Andriy left behind a wife, son, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms. Andriy Shurutin was posthumously awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III degree.
