- Soldier Andriy Sokil (call sign Kamaz) was killed on April 27, 2023, in a battle near the settlement of Nevelske in the Donetsk region. The defender was forever 25 years old. Andriy was from Vinnytsia. In childhood, he was engaged in dancing, performed at all-Ukrainian and international festivals and competitions. He graduated from the Vinnytsia Professional College of Construction, Architecture and Design of KNUBA. He was passionate about cycling. Later, he went to military service. He fought in the ATO / JFO in Donbas as part of the 95th separate airborne assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During the full-scale war, Andriy fought for Ukraine in the ranks of the 59th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Yakov Handziuk. "My best friend was killed. Andriy always told me: 'If I'm gone, I don't want you to cry, but I want you to smile and remember what a cheerful friend you had.' I still can't believe you're gone, my friend! I'm still waiting for your call: 'Max, it was a joke, I'm doing well.' Everyone who knows Andriy remembers how he smiled and joked. He was a true friend and a brave warrior. He defended his homeland, his family. You are in the heart of each of us. You will be forever in my heart," wrote Max Palamarchuk. "Andryukha was... I never thought I would write about you in the past tense, my friend... But... He was very responsible and organized, he was the first to be ready to help. Andryukha was the soul of the company, a generator of jokes and pranks, it was never sad with Sokol. His eyes were always shining with the energy with which he seemed to be overflowing. His smile and laughter are very clearly and vividly present in my memory today... So Andryukha was not, but will be! He will be forever in our hearts and memory! Eternal memory and glory to you!" wrote his friend Pavlo Matsyuk. The warrior was buried at the Sabarivske cemetery in Vinnytsia. Andriy left behind his parents, sisters, nephew and many friends.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
