- Captain Andriy Sydor (call sign Malyuk) was killed on May 2, 2024, as a result of military actions near the village of Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk region. The defender was 33 years old. Andriy was born in the village of Luh, Lviv region. He received his higher education at the Ternopil National Economic University. He studied at the Faculty of Banking Business, specializing in "Finance and Credit". He worked as an instructor at the company "Leoni Wiring Systems GmbH". He was interested in military affairs, gained experience and developed in this field. He collected watches and loved to fish. With the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the ranks of the defenders to fight for his native country. Andriy served in the 103rd separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He commanded a rifle company in the 65th battalion. Since he was the youngest of the commanders, he received such a call sign. During his service, he was awarded the distinctions "For the Defense of the Native State", "Participant in Combat Operations", "For Honor and Courage of the City of Stryi", "War Cross", "Silver Cross" and the distinction of the head of the regional department of the Territorial Defense Forces "West". "Malyuk was a reliable, faithful friend and comrade. A commander with a capital letter. He was faithful to his comrades-in-arms and the people of Ukraine until his last breath! He defended our land from the Russian invaders with honor and dignity. Malyuk is one of the giants who are creating the modern history of Ukraine! At home, he was a beloved husband, the best, loving dad and son!" wrote the officer's wife Oksana. The warrior was buried in the village of Strilkiv in the Lviv region, where he lived with his family. At home, Andriy was awaited by his parents, wife and two children.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
