Andrii B. Kucherenko

Andriy Kucherenko, a soldier, was killed on August 13, 2023, while defending the Zaporizhzhia region from the occupiers. The defender sustained fatal injuries during enemy artillery shelling. He was 51 years old. Andriy was originally from the city of Frunze (Kyrgyzstan). In childhood, he moved with his family to the village of Sosnytsya in the Chernihiv region. After finishing school, he mastered the profession of tractor driver-mechanic at the Sosnytsya Vocational Agricultural Lyceum. He served in the military. He was married and raised two sons. He always cared for the well-being of his family, so he worked a lot. During the full-scale war, Andriy was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought against the occupiers as part of the 117th Separate Mechanized Brigade, serving as a rifleman-assistant grenadier. "We deeply sympathize with the hero's family. May the Lord God help you to bear this heavy loss. He defended his country, his people, his land. Eternal gratitude and glory to Andriy. Eternal memory and glory to the Hero!" - noted the Sosnytsya community. The serviceman was buried in the village of Sosnytsya. At home, his wife and two sons were waiting for Andriy.
