- Serviceman Andriy Hirskyy (call sign Zum) died on July 11, 2023 near the city of Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. During the performance of a combat mission, he received fatal injuries as a result of enemy mortar shelling. The defender was 43 years old. Andriy was born and lived in the city of Uman, Cherkasy region. He studied at Uman City Gymnasium No. 2. He then graduated from the Uman Vocational Agricultural Lyceum, obtaining the profession of an electrician for the repair and maintenance of electrical equipment. In 1997, he served in the border troops in the city of Mukachevo. For the most part of his life, he worked at the Umanfermash plant. Before the war, he worked at the private enterprise "Hordiychuk". On February 24, 2022, the man went to the military enlistment office, seeking to protect his homeland from the occupiers. Subsequently, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and became a serviceman of the 110th separate mechanized brigade named after Major General Marko Bezruchko. He took the position of a senior grenade launcher squad leader and went to the frontline. "Andriy was kind, sensitive, sociable, faithful, brave - and this list can go on and on. He tried to help everyone, practically never had conflicts. He was a loyal friend, a good son, a wonderful brother, a loving husband and the best father," said the deceased's younger daughter Olga. "Andriy was a loving son and father. He was always cheerful, life-loving, sensitive, and could come to help without hesitation at any moment," added his godmother Tetyana Kryvonis. The fighter was buried in the Alley of Heroes of the cemetery in his hometown. At home, Andriy was awaited by his mother Yevdokia Pavlivna, brother Serhiy, daughters Iryna and Olha, relatives and friends.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
