- Junior Sergeant Andrii Udachyn (call sign Landysh) died on June 1, 2023, at the I. Mechnikov Dnipropetrovsk Regional Clinical Hospital from severe injuries. On May 20, 2023, while performing military duties near the village of Makiivka in the Luhansk region, he sustained head, temple, and brain injuries during enemy artillery shelling. Doctors fought for his life until the end, but the defender was killed without regaining consciousness. He was forever 46 years old. Andrii was a native and resident of Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region. He had two unfinished higher educations. He studied at the Dnipropetrovsk State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports and the Dnipropetrovsk Metallurgical Academy. For over 15 years, he worked at the Interpipe Niko Tube enterprise, holding positions of foreman, master, and senior master of pipe processing sections, and was a shift supervisor before the invasion. He devoted his free time to his family, whom he loved above all else and always strived to protect. He was passionate about football and loved fishing. During the full-scale war, the man joined the ranks of the defenders of Ukraine, joining the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Mstislav the Brave, holding the position of a grenade launcher assistant. During his service, the warrior was awarded by the command, in particular, with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine's "Iron Cross" badge, the badge of the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade, and posthumously with the Order of Courage of the III degree. "On April 25, 2023, we hoped to celebrate 25 years of marriage, but... He was waiting there, I was here. I have not yet seen anyone as experienced in his profession (metallurgist) as he was. He had so many comrades, he was so sociable..." said the deceased's wife, Inna. "Andrii will be remembered as a caring person, a good manager, a loving husband and father," his colleagues added. Andrii was buried in the Alley of Glory of Heroes in his native Nikopol. At home, his wife and daughter were waiting for him.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
