- 24-year-old junior sergeant Andrii Hora (call sign Hora, Horynich) was killed on November 5, 2023, in the Donetsk region. While carrying out a task in the area of the village of Klishchiyivka, he received fatal injuries as a result of enemy mortar shelling. Andrii was born in Vinnytsia. After finishing school, he obtained a higher education as a rehabilitation specialist at the Kamianets-Podilskyi Ivan Ohiienko National University. He dreamed of working in his specialty. During his studies, he met his future wife, and later started a family. He lived in the Poltava region. He was passionate about traveling, sports, and playing the guitar. After receiving his diploma, he went to Poland, where he worked in construction. When the full-scale invasion began, the man returned to his homeland and tried to volunteer for the front, but was denied due to the lack of military experience. In February 2023, he finally signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He underwent training in the UK. He fought in the Donetsk region as part of the 5th Separate Assault Brigade. He worked in intelligence. In battles, he received several concussions and injuries. In the summer, he was recommended for the award of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine's "Golden Cross" for a successful assault. "I asked him not to go to war, especially as a volunteer. Because he didn't serve in the army, he didn't graduate from the military department. Andrii kept repeating: 'How will I look the guys in the eye later? What will I tell my child, she will ask where I was?'" His mother Olena Pavlivna said. He was buried in the village of Mateikov in the Vinnytsia region. Andrii is survived by his mother, grandfather, wife, and daughter.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
