- Junior Lieutenant Andrii Keidalyuk (call sign Sarmat) died on August 12, 2023, in the area of the village of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region. The defender received a fatal injury during a mortar shelling. Andrii was 42 years old. He was from the village of Labushne, Odesa region. He received higher education at the Odesa State Academy of Technical Regulation and Quality. He lived in Odesa. He worked in the municipal guard. He was fond of hunting. "Everyone knew him as a brave, kind and sensitive person. A father, brother, son, husband, uncle, friend, to whom one could always turn for help or advice. He was a person who always radiated light, with a smile on his face. Andrii never gave up and went to victory. He was a courageous, determined, intelligent and brave warrior. He came to help, never leaving his comrades in trouble. He had severe concussions and remained in position," said the deceased's niece, Victoria Shepel. On February 24, 2022, the man joined the territorial defense forces. Later, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in military unit A7022, was a platoon commander of the guard company. He was awarded the insignia of a participant in combat operations, a war veteran, "Unity and Freedom," as well as the medal "Unbreakable Heroes of the Russian-Ukrainian War."
