- 48-year-old Sergeant Andriy Sokolovsky was killed in action on April 1, 2022, in a battle with occupiers near the town of Avdiivka, Donetsk region. The defender received a penetrating wound to the lungs and lost a lot of blood. The fighter's body lay on the battlefield for another 6 days until it was taken to the morgue in Dnipro. Andriy was born in the city of Lubny, Poltava region. He graduated from the Kharkiv Institute of Social Progress with a degree in "Finance and Credit." He served in the army. He worked in the field of car sales. Later, he moved to Kyiv, where in recent years he was a sales manager for the company "Askania-Auto." He practiced yoga, adored nature, philosophical and psychological books. He was very kind-hearted, always fed stray cats. He highly valued his red cat, in honor of which he named himself Andriy Sokolovsky Red Cat. In 2015-2016, the man participated in the ATO. Therefore, with the start of the full-scale invasion, Andriy went to war again as part of the 25th separate airborne Sich Battalion. "Dad was a real soul, his wisdom and courage made people admire him. All friends and family always knew they could rely on him, and colleagues from his last job did not let him leave, as they valued him highly. His unparalleled sense of humor was one of his most important qualities, and one could listen to dad for hours on end. A true master of word and deed - everything he undertook, he did with excellence. He walked a lot, ate properly and practiced yoga to keep himself in good shape," said daughter Oleksandra. The soldier was buried in his hometown in Poltava region. Andriy left behind a daughter. His mother, the defender, could not bear the loss and 7 months after her son. Sergeant Andriy Sokolovsky was posthumously awarded the "Defender of the Fatherland" medal.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
