Andrii L. Kravchenko (Dron)

Captain Andriy Kravchenko (call sign Drone) was killed in action on May 18, 2022, from an explosive injury sustained in Bakhmut, Donetsk region. The defender was forever 47 years old. Andriy was from the village of Pryluky in the Zhytomyr region. He obtained a degree in research physics from Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University. He worked as the head of the regional representation of the "Tumen" MP in Chernivtsi. He was passionate about beekeeping and had his own apiary. In 2016, he was mobilized. He fought in the East. After demobilization, he signed a reservist contract and kept in touch with his comrades. He received the Presidential Award of Ukraine "For Participation in the Anti-Terrorist Operation," the medal "For the Glory of Chernivtsi," and the Order "For Courage" of the III degree. During the full-scale war, Andriy served in the 8th Separate Special Purpose Regiment of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of the 3rd squad. He held the rank of captain. "Andriy loved life in all its manifestations. He dedicated himself completely to his work, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and had many plans for the future. He will forever be a Hero to us, an example of courage and dedication, perseverance, and love. We are forever together..." said the wife of the fallen, Larysa Kravchenko. The soldier was buried at the Alley of Glory in the Central Cemetery of Chernivtsi. Andriy is survived by his wife, son, daughter, and mother.
