- Serviceman Andrii Kushko was killed on May 27, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission in the village of Velyke Artakove in the Mykolaiv region. The defender was 31 years old. Andrii was born in the village of Baraboi, Odesa region. After graduating from the local secondary school, he studied at the Black Sea Maritime Lyceum. He obtained the profession of a docker. Later, he got a job at the Black Sea Commercial Port. He served in the military in the settlement of Desna. After being discharged, he returned to work at the port. In his free time, he loved fishing and hunting, and also engaged in sports. When the full-scale invasion began, he voluntarily defended Ukraine. The man joined the ranks of the 18th battalion of the 35th separate brigade of the marine corps. He held the position of deputy commander of the combat vehicle, operator-gunner. "He was sensitive, kind. He had great respect for adults, made plans for the future. He loved his family, parents and life very much. He was respected in the village," said the mother of the fallen Tetiana Kushko. The warrior was buried in his native village. Andrii is survived by his parents, wife and daughter.
