Andrii L. Troshchyi

Military service member Andriy Troshchyi was killed in action on March 13, 2022, in battles against Russian occupiers for his native Luhansk region. Two days before his death, the defender turned 54 years old. Andriy is from the city of Rubizhne, Luhansk region. He worked as a teacher at the Rubizhne Industrial and Pedagogical College. When the Russian-Ukrainian war began in 2014, the man was mobilized into the ranks of the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade. He served in intelligence and participated in the defense of Luhansk Airport. Returning to civilian life, Andriy joined the veterans' movement in his hometown. He was the deputy head of the NGO "Union of ATO Veterans of Rubizhne". Together with local veterans, he founded the Museum of National Patriotic Education at the Rubizhne Pedagogical College, which became one of the largest ATO museums in Luhansk region. Also, thanks to Andriy, the local branch of the "Tatokhab" project started working, which brought together families of students and gave them the opportunity to implement their own projects. The college received a 3D printer and other equipment for creativity. With the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the territorial defense forces unit and took up the defense of his hometown. The occupiers destroyed the Rubizhne College, the museum in it, and killed Andriy.
