- 32-year-old soldier Andriy Nenchuk died on August 24, 2023 during an enemy shelling of positions near the village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. This was the defender's first battle. The warrior was born in the village of Nadychi, Lviv region. He graduated from the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv with a degree in Psychology. Two years before the full-scale war, he started working at Nova Poshta. He was the manager of the cargo terminal. After receiving the summons, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He underwent training in Ukraine and Germany. He served in the 82nd separate air assault brigade. Between shifts, he studied military affairs and the English language in more depth. "Mom, we were so looking forward to the vacation, but someone needs it more. I'll go on vacation when there's time. Others need it. They have families," Andriy told his mother during his service. "Andriy loved books, science, and sweets. He was a golden son: calm, balanced, and prudent. He also loved agriculture, his native garden, and vegetable garden. He gladly worked on the plot, waiting for the harvest. He dreamed of becoming a doctor. He was interested in history and space. As a student, he wrote scientific papers, and perhaps only his love for candy could compete with his love for science. Whenever Andriy came to visit me, he would bring sweet treats for tea. This was our tradition. He was very caring and kind. He worried about everyone. He asked to send him more sweets so that there would be enough for all his comrades-in-arms. And he helped with equipment through his colleagues. When we received the news that Andriy was no more, his nephew Mykola said that his uncle was the wisest of all and it would be very lonely without him," Halyna, the mother, said. The defender was buried in his native village. He is survived by his mother, brother, sister, and other relatives.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
