- Soldier Andrii Onyshchenko (call sign Dusik) died in the hospital on July 17, 2022 from wounds received during battles with Russian occupiers for the Kharkiv region. He was 43 years old. Andrii was from Kyiv. He studied at local school No. 108. He graduated from the police school. He worked as a driver for the "VENBEST" mobile rapid response group. He loved football and knew every player in the world. He was a fan of the Dynamo Kyiv football team. He loved salted pickles, shashlik, and relaxing in nature. During the full-scale war, Andrii was a platoon commander in the 5th rifle company of the 241st separate territorial defense brigade. On July 9, in the area of the village of Dementievka in the Kharkiv region, Andrii went with a group to help his comrades-in-arms. However, they also came under enemy fire. Dusik received a severe wound and was evacuated from the battlefield by his comrade Dmytro Chereshnia. From that day on, he remained in a coma and never regained consciousness. His rescuer Dmytro was killed on July 13. "A loving father and husband. He protected and cared for us. He loved life. Cheerful, kind, sensible. Family was always the top priority! He always approached his work with reason and was a professional in his field!" - said his wife Maria. The defender was buried at the Southern Cemetery in the Kyiv region.
