Andrii M. Strohush

Sergeant Andriy Strohush (call sign Tybiy) died on June 2, 2024 while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Makiivka, Luhansk region. The warrior was 34 years old. Andriy was born in the village of Dolishniy Shepet, Chernivtsi region. After school, he went to work, first at the enterprise "Krasток", and then got a job as a driver of a timber truck at a private company. During the full-scale invasion, he defended the country as part of the grenade launcher unit of the 107th separate brigade of the territorial defense. For his service, he had military commendations and was awarded the "Golden Cross" badge. "My brother took the call sign Tybiy, because our ancestors who made barrels were called 'tybiy'. He volunteered at the beginning of the war, left our region on March 11 and honorably served, trained as a sniper. The best brother, son, husband and father stood up to defend our state. He was the best, always helped everyone, had the respect of commanders and comrades. He always went first and was not afraid. He was a hero - he died on the battlefield," said his sister Myroslava. The defender was buried in his native village. Andriy is survived by his father, wife, two children and sister.
