Andrii M. Tsiapych

Soldier Andrii Tsiapych died on December 10, 2023, during a hostile air strike while performing his duties in the Avdiivka direction. The defender was only 22 years old. Andrii was born in the village of Pozdymyr, Lviv region. After finishing school, he studied at the Chervonohrad Professional Mining and Construction Lyceum, where he mastered the profession of underground electrician. He worked as a loader at a small furniture company. He was interested in cars and everything related to them. He had many plans and dreams, including starting a family. On December 2, 2022, the young man was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the ranks of the Separate Presidential Brigade named after Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, working as a mortar gunner in a mortar battery. From February 2023, he defended Avdiivka alongside his comrades-in-arms. For his courage during combat missions, he received the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine's award, the "Golden Cross". "I will always remember my brother as a kind and sincere person, to whom everyone was drawn. He was always there when someone needed his help. Even while at the front, Andriiko remained positive and with a smile on his face. He convinced all of us that everything would be fine," said the deceased's younger sister, Vitaliia Mykhailiuz. The young defender was buried in his native village. Andrii is survived by his parents, sister, and fiancée.
