Andrii O. Babenko (Buhor)

Soldier Andriy Babenko (call sign Buhhor) was killed on October 23, 2022 near the village of Blahodativka in the Kherson region. During the performance of a combat mission, the warrior came under enemy artillery fire and received fatal injuries. In September, he turned 39 years old. Andriy was born in Odesa. In 2001, he graduated from Odesa Vocational School No. 11 and obtained the profession of ship hull repairman, manual electric welder. In civilian life, he worked as a builder. He was interested in football. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man fought for Ukraine in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a rifleman-medic of the 100th battalion of the 61st separate mechanized brigade. "He never refused to help anyone. He was a kind and unfailing person. He loved children very much. Andriy joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as early as February 26, 2022. He was first near Mykolaiv, and then he was sent to the Kherson direction. He bravely defended our country. He selflessly carried out combat missions. Comrades-in-arms valued Andriy. We will always remember our smiling (lately with sad eyes) friend. Our Hero! Hero of Ukraine!" - said Yulia, the godmother of the fallen warrior. The defender was buried in his native Odesa. Andriy is survived by his parents, wife, daughter, relatives and friends.
