Andrii O. Brahinets

Andrii Oleksandrovych Brahinets was born on April 12, 1994, in the village of Olishivka, Chernihiv district, Chernihiv region. After finishing school, he entered the Chernihiv Industrial and Economic College of Technologies and Design of KNU, where in 2015 he obtained the specialty “Installation and Maintenance of Automation Means and Systems for Technological Production.” In 2015, he was called up for mandatory military service, which he completed in Kyiv. Later, he signed a contract and continued his service in the 4th Operational Brigade named after Hero of Ukraine Sergeant Serhii Mykhalchuk of the National Guard of Ukraine. He practiced kickboxing and had a great love for chess. Before the full-scale invasion, he was involved in carrying out tasks in the Anti-Terrorist Operation / Joint Forces Operation. Since February 2022, Andrii carried out tasks to defend the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine from Russian aggression in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. During his service, Andrii Brahinets established himself as a dedicated and brave warrior, capable of professionally executing combat missions. He constantly worked on improving his professional skills. He knew how to shoot skillfully with an AGS, mortar, and SPG. He was well-versed in mine-explosive issues. On the battlefield, he repeatedly carried out tasks in difficult conditions involving life-threatening risks. He demonstrated the ability to act successfully and make correct decisions in extreme situations. He was a model of courage, resilience, and determination while defending his homeland. A loyal friend, comrade, and brother-in-arms. Always calm and balanced, he was also very modest. Andrii Brahinets died on November 8, 2022, while carrying out a task near the village of Kurdyumivka in Donetsk region due to mine-explosive injuries incompatible with life. Andrii is survived by his mother, stepfather, younger sister, and brother.
