- Soldier Andriy Hudyma was killed on July 2, 2023 while carrying out a combat mission near the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. Andriy was from Lviv. He studied at school No. 27 and the Oleksa Novakivskyi Children's Art School. Later, he graduated from the Lviv State College of Decorative and Applied Arts named after Ivan Trush and the Lviv National Academy of Arts. He worked as a chef at the "Opеn" and "Re:bro" restaurants. In 2023, the "Old Lion Publishing House" was preparing to publish his book "69 Spices for the Heart". He loved traveling and animals, and kept Sphynx cats. The full-scale invasion of the Russian occupiers changed the man's life. He decided to take up arms and go to war. He became a serviceman of the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He bravely carried out all combat missions, believed in victory, and did everything to bring it closer. During his service, he actively maintained his Facebook page and wrote a lot about his military routine. "Our Hero... All I prayed for in the last few days was for you to appear online. To read the messages and look through the photos from Yuliashka, to which she was waiting for your replies and constantly asking: 'Why doesn't Dad answer?' To see the screenshots of our chats, from which you would have smiled and your heart would have warmed. But it's frozen - for the last time on Friday, at 01.07... Your relationship with your daughter was so tender, so touching, so close. You were the best dad in the world. You were from the first second of Yuliashka's birth. And 9 months before that. Your daughter loves you more than anything in the world. And that's why I held you back as much as I could. I was angry and proud. And now my heart is torn to pieces, because it's never been so hard. I know how many kind words your family, friends, and comrades-in-arms will say about you. Everyone who was lucky enough to be a part of your life or just to know you. You are a Hero, and I just wanted to see your hugs with Yuliashka. And for you to always be by her side. Now you are the Angel of your daughter in heaven..." - wrote the ex-wife of the fallen Ulyana Surmay. "Our family is in mourning. Everything he touched, everything he created: from the tiniest knife to culinary masterpieces, bears his imprint, his thoughts, his smile, his soul. Andriy taught so many of us not only the profession - but love. Love for each other, for the work you do. His traditions live on in the establishments, his dishes, his creativity live on. We are orphaned without you, Andriy!" - said his colleagues from the "Re:bro" restaurant. The farewell to the fallen defender took place on July 6, 2023 in his native Lviv. Andriy Hudyma was buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery's Marson Field in Lviv. Andriy is survived by his daughter, family, friends, colleagues, and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
