Andrii O. Korniichuk (Korin)

Soldier Andriy Korniychuk (call sign Korin) was killed on February 20, 2023 while performing a combat mission near the village of Chervonopopivka in the Luhansk region. He sustained fatal explosive injuries as a result of a direct hit by an enemy shell in the trench. The warrior was 39 years old. Andriy was born and lived in Kostopil, Rivne region. He studied at gymnasiums No. 3 and No. 6. He obtained the profession of an electrician at the Kostopil Construction and Technology College. He studied at the Rivne International University of Economics and Humanities named after Stepan Demyanchuk, where he obtained the profession of a physical education teacher and a rehabilitation specialist. He worked as a deputy director at the Kostopil management company "BZHKP". In 2020, he was elected a deputy of the Kostopil City Council. He had many plans and ideas to improve the landscaping and environmental condition in his hometown. He also engaged in the manufacture of case furniture, later becoming interested in woodworking. He became a specialist in his field, making wooden gazebos and stairs. He built a house where he lived with his family, making all the furniture and doors himself. During the full-scale war, the man joined the ranks of the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He became a fighter of the 25th separate airborne assault Sich brigade. He held the position of a grenade launcher. The man had a strong desire to be as useful and productive as possible. While on the front lines under constant shelling, he found the opportunity to take an online course in drone management. "Andriiko was a loving, caring, wise father, beloved husband, sensitive son and loyal friend. He was always a positive and driving force for us. He had a lot of passion for life. Everything burned in his hands. He devoted himself to his work 100%. "If you do something, do it as best as possible," Andriiko would say. He always wanted to change the world for the better. He was a philosopher and had extraordinary depth within. He was a wise advisor and a reliable support in our life with the girls. The life credo: "Words are invented for lies, the truth will be revealed in deeds." He lived 39 bright, full, meaningful years. We love you, our angel! Your girls," wrote the fallen defender's wife. The fighter was buried in the Alley of Glory of the "Nove" cemetery in his native Kostopil. At home, the defender was awaited by his father Oleksandr Volodymyrovych, mother Valentyna Mykhailivna, wife Yulia, and daughters Sofia and Anna. The girls were 7 and 4 years old at the time of their father's death, respectively.
