Andrii O. Martynov (Martyn)

Senior Lieutenant Andrii Martynov (call sign Martin) was killed on March 16, 2023 near the settlement of Khromove in the Donetsk region. During a combat mission, he received fatal injuries as a result of enemy artillery fire. On April 8, the officer would have turned 47 years old. Andrii was a resident of the city of Poltava. He graduated from the National Aerospace University named after M.E. Zhukovsky "Kharkiv Aviation Institute". He was a design engineer by profession. He worked in his profession at the Poltava Turbomechanical Plant, the Globo Core Mechanical Plant, and in recent years at a private enterprise. The man was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine in December 2022. He served in the 92nd separate assault brigade named after the Koshovy Otaman Ivan Sirko. He commanded a mechanized platoon. "Andrii was a man of a bright soul, a loving and caring father. Souls are flying away, souls are flying away. The heavens take them from us. Those who were close and dear to us are now needed by the Lord. Souls are flying away, souls are flying away. And they leave a wound in the heart... Eternal and bright memory to Andrii!" - wrote his wife Marina. The hero was buried in the Alley of Glory of the Zaturinsky cemetery in the Poltava region. Andrii is survived by a brother, wife and three children. The officer was posthumously awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III degree.
