Andrii O. Norov (Kosmos)

Andriy Oleksiyovych Norov was born on June 6, 1977, in Kirovohrad. He studied at the local school No. 1. He obtained an economic education. In 2002, he moved to Kyiv. He was an active participant in the Orange Revolution, Euromaidan, and the Revolution of Dignity. In 2016, he was sent as a volunteer to the ATO zone. At the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, he planned and organized the defense of the Kyiv Hydroelectric Power Station. In March, thanks to his skillful actions, significant damage was inflicted on enemy units in Kyiv region, halting their advance. On the night of March 11 to 12, 2022, to prevent a breakthrough and strengthen the defense of the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade, a reinforced platoon of the motorized infantry battalion was sent under the command of Andriy Norov. The servicemen halted the enemy's advance, forcing the enemy to use the Grad multiple rocket launcher system. As a result of the shelling from the Grads, the unit suffered sanitary losses. On March 13, during the evacuation of the wounded, the enemy shelled the area. Andriy Norov sustained injuries incompatible with life. He was buried on April 7, 2022, in his hometown in Kirovohrad region.
