- Sergeant Andriy Venger (call sign Swift) died on December 8, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission in the area of the village of Berestove in the Donetsk region. The fighter was 24 years old. Andriy was from the village of Shehyni in the Lviv region. He studied at the Shehyni secondary school of grades I-III. Then he served his mandatory military service. In civilian life, he worked at a car wash and Nova Poshta LLC. When the full-scale war began, he went to the front without hesitation. In April 2022, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and served honorably in the 10th separate mountain-assault brigade "Edelweiss". He held the position of a scout. During his service, he was repeatedly commended by the command for his courage in the performance of combat missions. In September 2023, the fighter received the award of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Golden Cross". "For me, this is a very painful loss. We had so many plans for the future life with Andriy. He was always cheerful, always remained positive. His support was something incredible. And our love was always passionate and romantic. I am proud of my Hero," said the deceased's girlfriend Anastasia Karabchuk. "Andriy was a very sincere and kind guy. He always came to help. He was very brave and courageous. A positive person. No matter what happened in life, he always smiled. Even being at war, he never said that everything was bad. He always calmed down and said that everything would be fine. Andriy was a true warrior who feared nothing. Purposeful, sincere, resilient, a real fighter and defender! He volunteered to defend his native land. It is hard to imagine how our defender Andriy, who weighed 62 kilograms, went on combat missions carrying military equipment weighing over 60 kilograms. And he still had to maneuver, be in the trenches, and fight! Andriy was and will always be the best son, brother, classmate, and friend. There are very few people like him in life," added his classmate and best friend Maria Bench. The young warrior was buried in his native village. Andriy is survived by his parents, four brothers, two sisters, a girlfriend, relatives, friends, and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
