Andrii O. Visych

Anti-aircraft gunner Andriy Visych was killed on September 22, 2022, in a battle with the occupiers near the village of Rozdolivka in the Donetsk region. The soldier was 37 years old. Andriy was born in the city of Smila, Cherkasy region. In 2008, he graduated from Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute, earning a degree in engineering. He worked as a foreman and engineer in manufacturing. Then he moved to the Czech Republic, where he got a job as a production line operator. In his free time, he engaged in sports and loved fishing. During the full-scale war, in April 2022, Andriy joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He defended Ukraine as part of the anti-aircraft missile platoon of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade. "A loving son and father. He had courage and unwavering will, honor and dedication to Ukraine, and hoped for a free and strong country where his son would grow up. He loved life and friends. He kept up with technology news. All dreams were cut short, and his son was left with 37 years forever," said the defender's mother, Lydia. "Goodbye, neighbor! It seems like just recently we greeted each other... Good memories will remain forever..." wrote Oleksandr Holovchenko. The soldier was buried at the Alley of Heroes in his hometown of Smila. Andriy is survived by his parents and son.
