Andrii P. Balai

Soldier Andriy Balai was killed on April 4, 2022, in a battle with Russian occupiers near the city of Popasna in the Luhansk region. The warrior was 26 years old. Andriy was born and lived in Lviv. He stu at the local Lyceum No. 80. He then graduated from the Lviv Higher Professional Polytechnical School. He served in the National Guard of Ukraine. Later, he worked in the construction sector. He was passionate about football and was a fan of the football club "Karpaty" (Lviv). was killed With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine to fight against the occupiers. He served as a grenade launcher in the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Daniel. Together with his comrades, he defended the Luhansk region. "Andriy was a patriot of his country, always a kind, sincere, smiling guy. Without hesitation, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the first day of the full-scale invasion. In the combat zone, he stood out for his bravery and discipline, as well as his ability to lift spirits. He was killed with a weapon in his hands, as a warrior. A person who found positivity even where it seemed there was none. On a shield!" said a comrade of the fallen Andriy. The defender was buried in the Mars Field in Lviv. At home, Andriy was awaited by his mother, brother, and relatives.
