Biography
Andriy Pavlovych Khanin was born on March 19, 1988, in the village of Veselivka (Autonomous Republic of Crimea). He graduated from the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs with a degree in Law. After graduation, he served in one of the special units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea. In 2014, after the occupation of Crimea, he moved to the city of Dnipro, where he had to rebuild his life from scratch, like everything else. In the spring of 2021, he enlisted in the military service of the 25th Separate Airborne Brigade. Initially, he held the position of a platoon commander — commander of a combat vehicle, and later became the chief sergeant of the parachute assault platoon. While defending the city of Volnovakha in the Donetsk region, he destroyed an enemy T-72 tank and about 10 enemy personnel. During the battle, after being wounded, the paratrooper helped his injured comrades and continued to fulfill his duty until the end. Andriy Khanin was killed on February 26, 2022, in battle while trying to destroy an enemy BMP. For personal courage and heroism displayed in defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and for loyalty to the military oath, Andriy Pavlovych Khanin was posthumously awarded the title of "Hero of Ukraine" with the order "Golden Star."Burial place
