Andrii P. Oliinyk

Senior soldier Andrii Oliinyk died on March 4, 2023 in the Mechnikov Hospital in Dnipro. On February 26, in the battle for the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, during the evacuation of wounded comrades, he sustained severe shrapnel wounds. In April, the defender would have turned 36 years old. Andrii was born in the village of Andriivka, Lviv region. After school, he obtained the profession of a car mechanic in a vocational school, but did not work in his profession. He was a general laborer at enterprises in the Lviv region. He was interested in computers and loved computer games. In 2015, he participated in the ATO, since then he became interested in military affairs. During the full-scale war, the man again took up the defense of his native country in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At first, he fought as part of the 80th separate airborne assault brigade, later he was transferred to the 77th separate airmobile brigade. He held the position of a medical instructor. "Andrii was a good person, he helped around the household. He loved nature, knew English well. He didn't have time to start a family, although he dreamed of a wedding and children!" - said Oksana Oliinyk, the wife of the deceased brother. The paratrooper was buried in his native village. Andrii is survived by his mother and younger brother with his family.
