Andrii P. Pavliuk

Soldier Andrii Pavliuk (call sign Bear) died on September 20, 2023, near the village of Novoprokopivka in the Zaporizhia region. While carrying out a combat mission, he sustained fatal injuries during an artillery bombardment. The defender was 38 years old. Andrii was born in the city of Zdolbuniv, Rivne region. He graduated from the Rivne Vocational and Technical School, where he obtained the profession of a tiler. In civilian life, he worked in construction. In his free time, he loved to draw. During the full-scale war, the man fought for his country in the ranks of the 46th Separate Airmobile Brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he defended the Zaporizhia direction. "Andrii was a courageous and strong defender. He stood to the last breath in defense of Ukraine. He said: 'I'm here so my son doesn't see the war,'" said his ex-wife and the mother of his son, Tetiana. The defender was buried in his hometown. Andrii left behind a son, Nazar. The defender was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, III degree.
