Andrii P. Suprunenko

Born on May 16, 1987, in the village of Perelyub, Korukivka district, Chernihiv region. In 2004, he graduated from the general education school of the village of Perelyub, Korukivka district, and in 2006, he graduated from Chernihiv Construction College No. 3. He served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine under conscription. After the army, he worked as a builder in the city of Chernihiv. From August 1, 2014, to July 23, 2015, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine under partial mobilization. From April 27, 2016, he served under contract in the 15th separate motorized infantry battalion of the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade of the Operational Command "North" of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit field post V2260, city of Konotop, Sumy region). He participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On June 20, 2016, at approximately 01:10, soldier Suprunenko sustained serious injuries as a result of a mortar shelling by Russian-terrorist groups targeting the positions of Ukrainian troops in the area of the urban-type settlement of Verkhnotoretske, Yasynuvata district, Donetsk region. He was subsequently evacuated to the military hospital in the city of Dnipro, where he died during surgery. Also, as a result of this shelling, soldier Hornostayev was killed. He was buried in the cemetery of the village of Perelyub, Korukivka district. On June 2, 2017, a memorial plaque was unveiled in the village of Perelyub, Korukivka district, on the facade of the general education school (Shevchenko Street, 6), where Andriy Suprunenko studied.
