Andrii P. Yushko (Dron)

Soldier Andrii Yushko (call sign Dron) was killed on April 6, 2023 near the settlement of Bilohirka in the Luhansk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he came under artillery fire and received a fatal wound. On October 4, the defender would have turned 32 years old. Andrii was born and lived in Mykolaiv. He obtained the profession of a welder at the local vocational school. He was engaged in entrepreneurial activities. He was married and raised two children. He devoted his free time to his family. During the full-scale war, the man was mobilized into the airborne assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 81st separate airmobile brigade. "My husband was a man of honor and dignity, he always said: 'If I don't go, but hide, they may come to our city and our home.' He wanted his children to live in peace and tranquility. He couldn't just sit and do nothing. Now only the memory of him remains. He will always be a hero for the children," said Svitlana Yushko. The warrior was buried in his hometown. At home, his wife, son and daughter were waiting for him.
