Andrii P. Zhurybida (Zhurba)

Andriy Zhuribida (call sign Zhurba), a soldier, was killed on October 22, 2023 near the village of Synkivka in the Kharkiv region. While carrying out a combat mission, he was wounded but continued to fight. However, a drone attack by the enemy took his life. In a month, on November 28, he would have turned 24 years old. Andriy was from the city of Shepetivka in the Khmilnytskyi region. He had a secondary education. In civilian life, he was a talented chef, working in various restaurants in Kyiv. He was passionate about his work and constantly improving his skills, striving to develop further. The full-scale invasion changed all the young man's plans, so he unhesitatingly went to defend his Homeland from the Russian occupiers. Andriy joined the ranks of the 67th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a rifleman in the assault squad of the "Honor" company of the 1st battalion "Wolves Da Vinci". "Andriy was a calm and kind person. I never heard him shout or raise his voice. He was a wonderful and sincere person, cheerful. He voluntarily went to war. I always treated him like a younger brother, protected him, loved him very much and still love him. We always tried with my husband to help him in something or to advise him. At our wedding, he said: 'I know you. You will withstand all the obstacles that will come your way.' These words are forever in my heart. There are few like him. A hero. Very brave," said the deceased's friend Viktoria. Andriy is survived by his mother, younger brother, wife, other relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.
