- Senior soldier Andrii Shevchuk (call sign Sheva) was killed on April 26, 2024 near the village of Semenivka in the Donetsk region. During the performance of a combat mission, he received a fatal mine-explosive injury. The defender was 50 years old. Andrii was born in the village of Kidry, Rivne region. He lived in the village of Berezhnytsya. He obtained the profession of radio mechanic in a vocational school. In civilian life, he ran his own business - he grew cucumbers and built a small family business on that. With the start of the full-scale war, on March 1, 2022, he was voluntarily mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of driver-gunner, later - driver-grenadier of the 68th separate Yager brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush. He carried out combat missions in the hottest spots of the East: Bakhmut, Vuhledar, Kupiansk, Slovyansk, etc. The call sign was taken in honor of his son, whom his friends called that way, shortening the surname in this way. "He saw the meaning of life in children. He raised a son - an officer of the National Police, and a daughter - a cardiologist, which he was extremely proud of. He was sociable, sensitive and hardworking. He dreamed of a peaceful future for his family. He valued and protected his mother. A man with a capital letter, a faithful comrade-in-arms," the fallen comrades-in-arms said. Andrii was buried in the village of Berezhnytsya, Rivne region. The hero left behind a mother, wife, daughter, son, brothers and sisters.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
