- Andriy Stepanovych Boychuk was born on November 11, 1978, in the town of Berehomet, Vyzhnytsia District, Chernivtsi Oblast. From December 10, 1996, to May 12, 1998, he served in the military on conscription. In 2003, he graduated from the Chernivtsi Medical Vocational College. On March 10, 2022, he was called up for military service by mobilization to the 31st Border Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. On March 23, 2022, Andriy Boychuk was appointed to the position of border service inspector of the 3rd category — service number of the 4th section of border service inspectors of the 1st border post of the 4th department of the border service (type C) of the rapid response border command. In April 2023, as part of the 4th department of the border service (type C) of the rapid response border command of the 7th border detachment, he was dispatched to carry out combat missions to repel armed aggression in the area of direct fire engagement near the city of Bakhmut in Donetsk Oblast. Upon arriving at the positions of the border post, Andriy participated in their further arrangement and preparation for defense combat. Acting purposefully and thoughtfully, he inflicted significant losses on the enemy during numerous attempts to storm Ukrainian positions. On May 9, 2023, he arrived at the position as part of a group and came under mortar fire. Under enemy heavy fire, he inflicted losses on enemy groups and steadfastly held the designated positions. Andriy Boychuk died during the battle from the injuries he sustained. For his courage and selfless actions demonstrated while performing official duties to ensure the protection of Ukraine's independence and territorial integrity, Senior Soldier Andriy Stepanovych Boychuk was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the 3rd degree.Memory Book of the MIA System
