Andrii S. Shalapan (Tin)

Soldier Andriy Shalaban (call sign Shadow) was killed on September 6, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission in the village of Klishchiyivka in the Donetsk region, when he was saving a comrade. On October 3, the defender would have turned 29 years old. Andriy Shalaban was born and lived in the village of Yasnogorodka, Kyiv region. He graduated from the Kyiv Regional Higher Vocational School of Construction. He worked as a mason. He loved to do something with wood or stone. He made fireplaces, stairs, and laid tiles on order. He was engaged in sports, especially loved football. He served in the ranks of the 5th separate assault brigade. He was a scout. "We lived together for 11 years. Andriy was a good person, he always came to help. He loved to do everything with his own hands. He devoted time to the family. He adored our daughter. When the summons came to him, he went to serve and defend our country without hesitation. He believed in victory until the last. He believed that he would return home alive," said his wife Viktoria Shalaban. The defender was buried in the central cemetery in his native village. Andriy is survived by his father, wife, and daughter.
